Liver Cancer Awareness month
Your liver is a large organ at the top right side of your tummy. It helps you digest your food and removes toxins.
In the UK, it is unusual to have cancer start in your liver (primary liver cancer), it is more common to have cancer that has spread to the liver from somewhere else in your body. This is called secondary liver cancer.
It is important to talk to your GP if you have:
- a lump in your tummy
- lost a lot of weight without trying
- other symptoms of liver cancer (as on the NHS website) that get worse or do not get better after 2 weeks
Look out for the Love your Liver! roadshow – a national campaign providing free liver scans and expert advice
